Help Accidental Reset. Please Help.

I accidentally reset my phone to factory settings. Don't ask, I'm an idiot, obviously. I had previously copied my SD Card, but now the phone doesn't recognize any of the apps stored on my SD Card. I can see my pictures and downloaded music, but the apps are not appearing. I know they are there, because I can see the folder for them when I copy the card. Please help.

ok so when you move the apps to the sd card, you are not moving the entire app to the card. main reason being is that the stock card is a class 2 card so the read and write speed of the stock card is very slow. if the apps were to be moved in its entirety then the apps will suffer in performance. so what google did was to figure out a way to move part of the app to the card.

the apps2sd function whether it is an app or done through the phone, basically splits the app into two parts. the main part is left on the phone and the rest of the app is on the card. that is why widgets will not work on apps that are moved to the card this way.

so by doing a factory reset, you essesntially wipe the phone clean, but your sd card is left intact. thus the main part of the app is wiped during the process. so unfortunately, you will have to start over with your apps again. you can use mybackup pro to save your apps. you do not have to be rooted.

one last thing. if you really want to move your entire apps to the card, you can always root your phone. you will also need to partition it as well. however, since the app is on the card, you will need a class 6 or higher card to do this. i am rooted and i have over 160 apps on my card and i still have 280mb free of internal memory.

So is the user data on the card? For example, the ebooks i've purchased are on the card like my pics are?

i believe that is most likely on your card. i have the amazon kindle app and it stores the books i have in the kindle folder. so depending on the app it is probably still there. if not, the kindle app keeps track of what you have bought or downloaded. not sure what app you have.
