Help acer iconia a500 battery issue

I have a Acer Ionia a500 and when I look at the battery usage and it says that 34% of my battery was used by the cell radio and the is not even a cell radio in my tablet, how can I fix this cause it really eats my battery

Updating to latest 3.1 (4.010.13) will remove the cell service (or at least hide so you don't see it.) Otherwise, you can root and use Titanium to freeze the service, but I would go with the 3.1 update. There are several posts about the update and some old post about dealing with the cell service on 3.01.

I have upgraded it 3.1 and still have the problem I have rooted and I am running virtuous picasia how would I use titanium to freeze the service?

I'm running Virtuous Thrive right now and the battery is excellent. I did only use it lightly yesterday and left it on all night and today it is 79% battery and I havnt charged it since night before last.

My battery life is great. Im rooted but running stock rom. I have to charge it every other day.

I am goi g to defer to Spatoid on the custom ROM. The Acer 3.1 build removed the radio (cell.) I can't speak for Virtuous ROMs sorry.

Yeah I see where the update fixed the cell issue. it was supposed to fix the WiFi issue also but that I'm not sure about.

I have to say I'm a moderate user of mine. When I'm at work I use it throughout the day but very little and when I get home I use my main computer. But I will be leaving to Hawaii next week for two weeks and this will be all that I will bringing with me.
So needless to say I will have a lot more idea how it handles by the time I get home.
