Thanks so much! So I'll be able to flash this on an unlocked phone with root but no custom ROM? I am running the netarchy kernel. Will that still work as well?

Say, Shabby, have you tried using Wireless Tether for Root with this update? It starts but with errors and won't actually connect to anything. I saw other people saying that this update disabled their wifi tether, but I assumed that wouldn't affect rooted phones.

If I loaded just the new radio and not the update would that improve my reception?

should, yes.. but remember this update is still new, so there is no telling of all the bad things about it just yet

I flashed the update & radio, but ended up restoring a nandroid of my ROM until my ROM releases their 2.3.5 updated version & just having the radio flashed with Matr1x kernel works fine....

Just as a follow up, the 2.3.5 update wouldn't play nice with Google Voice (even after I reinstalled it from the market) and blocked my wireless tether for root. So that's a no go. Flashing the radio has improved my reception, though. As always thanks for the the hard work, even if I can't fully benefit from all of it at the moment.

Edit: I updated to wifi tether 3.1 beta 2, reflashed 2.3.5 AND reflashed the latest netarchy kernel, and this time it worked! I think the issue was not reflashing the netarchy kernel, even though I had it previously flashed on 2.3.4.

Edit 2: Strangely, the phone wouldn't recognize the internal storage when using the BFS version of netarchy. The CFS version works fine.

I was able to get Google Voice working as well. So, after much trial and error, I am running 2.3.5 and the new radios with working tether and GV. Thanks!
