this is for the old 2.3.4 stock boost rom if thats what you are running pm me and i will share a copy with you if you have clockworkmod installed just flash a rooted rom

This thread will show you how to obtain root and cwm http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?p=4478103. Read, then read it again, read it one more time then follow it step by step.

Make sure the file system is r/w (read and write)and not r/o (read only).

I can't locate the necessary root files anywhere.

Why not just update the phone to 2.3.6 then root after?
