Action Launcher Pro Help

I just downloaded this launcher and I really like it. I enjoy using it and how it functions but I have one question/comment on it. Is it just me or does this launcher drain the battery at an alarming pace? It's scary how quick my percentage is dropping just by using the phone. Didn't really have this problem before I installed it. Any help on this?

I am tired of the default launcher so I wanted something new. If you know of another good launcher, please let me know. Thanks.

Nova Launcher is really light-weight and if you like it, buy the Prime version.
Ive never tried Action Launcher but i cant see how a launcher would be using battery while not actively using it (when you arent in the home screens or app drawer)

Looks great, but after watching the video in the Play Store, it looks like it may indeed be battery intensive depending on setup. It seems that every single shortcut in the homescreen uses up the same battery equivalent as its widget due to the features shutter feature. Basically having 20 shortcuts is like having 20 active widgets. Battery use would increase if these widgets are the refreshing type of widgets, like Twitter, Facebook, etc.
