Activation times today - Verizon

Just got my N3. Its been trying to activate for 10 minutes. Anyone else experience this ? Maybe server overload ?

I'm waiting for mine to arrive here this afternoon. Going to have a new SIM card with it but I was thinking about just using the old sim card from my note 2. Are you using the new SIM card to activate it or the 1 that you have in your other old phone? Shouldn't be taking no 10 minutes. Usually matter of seconds to do this activation process that initial spinning.

It did take several minutes for mine to activate. Wasn't 10 minutes, but it was a good 5 I'd say.

Mine came without a sim card

So it sat there at the activation screen for quite a while

Till i called and they told me to check, nada

No idea how the eff you send someone a 300$ phone without a sim card, but it sounds like what others can expect

On your shipping confirmation email, did it list the SIM card as a separate item that was shipping, or just the phone?

Not sure

But in the box it has an "activation pamplet" with a slot that says "sim card here"

With nothing in it

Athough when i talked to them, the sim card was supposed to be in it already anyway

My phone from the store already had the SIM inserted and it did take about 10-15 mins to Activate.

There was a SIM card in my box, but it was no where listed on the receipt as it has been in the past. I just popped my SIM in from my S4 & it took like 1 minute.

Mine has failed to activate for the 4 hours since it got here. Came with the card installed in it already. I have removed/reinstalled it for grins. Haven't seen any indication of 4G signal showing up on it. Don't have an issue with getting a very solid 4G signal here with my old phone (a Motorola Droid Bionic). May have to take it into a store tomorrow if I don't have any luck. The sim card is a different size (smaller) than my old one. (And yes, I have had my old phone powered down during the process).

You need to call Verizon customer service. Sounds like the SIM is not registering if 4G is not coming on.

ADDED : Call 1-800-922-0204 or 1-877-807-4646 press O or say customer service. Basically try to get a CSR on the phone, this should be an easy fix. Have your SIM Card # handy.

I had to call the 877 number to get mine activated. Rep stated that the phone wasn't entered into their system. Took about 10 minutes because verizon also tried to rip me off on my data package. lol.. sneaks.

For everyone that already has Verizon, you should be able to pop in your SIM card from your previous phone and be good to go

I started the activation on my Note3 though I canceled it because I want to go through files on my Note2 before switching over, and it popped up with a message that I can revisit/finish activation with a setup wizard. However, I can not find this application.

After I take the sim card out of my Note2 and place it into the Note3, is that all that I will need to do?

Couldn't use my old SIM as they are different sizes (I thought the 2 year old one was too small, new one is even smaller). I signed onto my account at verizon and it let me activate the new phone there (it had everything about the new phone in the system including the SIM #). Rebooted the phone at that point and it synced right up. The issue must have been due to getting a new SIM#.

I made the mistake of not opening the included VZW "Getting Started" pamphlet, and fired mine up right away today. My iPhone didn't use a sim, so it was included in my order, listed on the included "Customer Receipt", and pre-installed.

The activation didn't work, until I called the number on the Activation Guide 877-807-4646, and followed the prompts. Then, after rebooting the phone, the activation started while I was on the home screen. Took about 2 minutes.

My situation exactly, thanks for the info! Weird that the required steps didn't match the included instructions. VZW is in the business of selling phones, right, and they're supposed to know what works and doesn't work?

Mine came with a sim card, though the Note3 tried calling into VZW many times and could not. I went online to activate it and it still wouldn't work. I ended up taking the SIM from my Note2 and placing it into the Note3 and that did it. Just curious, how do you program a SIM, what would it take to make the new SIM work with the Note3 and my account?

this is what I had to do. Wasnt recognizing 4G. tried connecting via wifi like it said. For Customer service.. it seemed know I was wanting to activate.. so it was all automated voice prompts. then I turned the phone on again.. and that time is fully activated. All those attempts did sorta abort the initial "setup wizard" for me. So I opted for a factory default reset to bring that back up.
