A while back I used the Atrix (Under 2.1 or 2.2.. I forget) with Activesync. Battery use was OK. I would be around 70% by the end of the work day depending on how many emails I got, if I was on call (read: Phone set very loud with vibrate on), etc. I then turned it off and started using my company issued phone for email to see where battery life was without Activesync.
With that arrangement I was usually between 80-85% by the end of the work day.
After the GB update I decided to turn it on again as I've heard that GB doesn't use as much battery for Activesync. However I've noticed that I'm lucky if I leave work with 50% of the battery left.
I just installed and configured Touchdown and will be giving it a shot. If it works well I won't have any reservations with purchasing the full version.
My question then is if anyone knows if the battery drain could be due, at least in part, by Motoblur, and if so if there's any way to bypass Motoblur for Activesync accounts.
