Help ActiveSync error "allow remote desktop"

Hello - I purchased my first Android phone on Friday and chose to get the Rezound. I have approval from our corporate IT department for ActiveSync. I go through all of the steps required, get past which folders to sync, so I believe I am connecting correctly. However, I then receive an error message stating:

Unable to sign in to your Exchange account because of your policy settings are incompatible with those on the server.

The details state:
Security policy required
Policy setting incompatible
Allow remote desktop
Please contact your IT team for assistance
My IT department will not support ActiveSync, so they will not help me . Because of the wording of the error message, I wonder if there is a setting on the phone that needs to be disabled? I do not ever plan on using the phone to remote into my computer, so if I need to disable this, it is okay. I just want to be able to sync my email.

Your help is appreciated

Try Touchdown or Moxier mail and see if you can get it to work. If it does work then something with your companies IT policy is stopping the native email client from working.

Did you manually configure the settings or did you let ActiveSync configure them for you? The only setting I would see being a problem is if you disabled SSL, although sometimes the email server not being set up correctly can also cause this problem. Have you confirmed your email server name?

I manually entered the settings. I am sure that they are correct because I get past the screen asking me what folders I want to sync. I enabled SSL and I am sure of the email server name. Because of the wording of the error message saying "your policy settings are incompatible with those of the server", it leads me to think that it is a setting on my phone, but I dont know enough about the phone settings to know what to try? Others in my company have their phones set up, but none are an HTC, so again, this leads me to think its a phone setting.
I am hesitant to pay $20 for an app. I would rather be able to use the native email and calendar apps that came with the phone. I dont know, but call me cheep...it seems that it should just work without having to add another app to the phone. I see more disadvantages to adding this app than advantages. What should I know that I don't know about the app?
Any advice is appreciated.

My suggestion is to put the trial version on just to see if it works. Then you will know that it's a problem with the native email client. K9 email is free but it is also a little more complex to setup than the others but worth trying.
