ActiveSync only receiving email but not sending?

I am able to sync with my exchange email on the HTC Hero for Sprint, but i am not able to properly send emails. I can send an email and it will appear as it goes through, but the email is never actually sent or does not show up on my sent box (on either the phone or outlook).

Any similar issues from others & any suggestions on fixing?
 
Similar issue using Touchdown. It was down to my username. I'd put "domain/username" (as that's how it is in Outlook) and all it needed was "username".
 
No I have not - all my emails that i send from the "exchange activesync" get stuck in my "Outbox". I searched for answer's online, but no luck. My best guess would be restrictions on the server, which I haven't been able to identify with my IT dept, but what is strange is that i'm able to receive and send data through the sync (ex deleting emails), but not send actual email.
ANYONE?
 
after further research, if you download the "touchdown" app and use that as your mail client, it should work with exchange. Note it cost $10 after your trial, but seems worth it. Also note, i don't believe you can access hotmail/gmail through this, so you will have to have both email clients.
