Root Ad block?

Maybe I'm using the wrong search criterion but is there something we can put on a rooted Milestone that blocks those darned annoying ads off of apps?

Glad to help. The ads drove me nuts before I discovered the app; you can manually edit the /etc/hosts file yourself (that's all the app does) but it's a lot simpler this way

Incidentally I'm seeing a few creeping back in (my Dibert app now has ads again for example) so I'm hoping the author will be updating his block list soon.

Does anyone know if there's an easy way to tell the phone what DNS servers to use?

I use adfree and it works pretty well, but I run my own ad-blocking DNS server for other purposes anyway, and I'd love to point my milestone to it too... ideas?
