I'd go with cyanogen over anything else:

Doesn't look like coredroid/leedroid make roms for the incredible. (core droid only does the incredible s)

Sorry. it's my fault. My phone is Desire HD and I found this topic in google. Actually the shell , recovery and commands are the same.
Anyway, New rom doesn't fix the problem. it installed but the problem exist. No homescreen, "Internet pass through" as default connectivity mode,...

An AOSP rom will bypass all the things that were disabled with auto start and titanium.

The other thing you could try (if you've made your nandroid backup ) would be just to do a factory reset and download and flash a new rom... Then attempt to copy the data you want from the data partition of your a nandroid to your new rom....

Thank you so much sdrawkcab25. I installed cyanogen and it boots with adw launcher. all the apps were there. I've got so excited but then I noticed it cleared all contacts and messages.
I backed up apps+data and I saved the apps.

The I restored the full backup that I'd made in recovery mode to first state to have my contacts and messages again with no homescreen.

I will try some more roms. maybe they don't delete my data.

- CoreDroid and revolution HD save my contacs and messages, no home screen. (when I call from home, it shows my name and number, so the contacts are there)
- Cyanogen boots and I can work with apps but no contacts or messages.

update: I also tried to run "Optimize toolbox" app that caused all this to restore the settings and save its data folder but it closes and I couldn't work with it.

I THINK if you boot into cyanogen and restore everything you've frozen with titanium and then uninstall titanium, and do the same with "startup manager" then flash a sense rom (core droid/lee droid), you may be okay. All your contacts and texts will come back.

The reason you don't have contacts/texts with cyanogen is because it uses a different "app" than the other roms, but the data is still there, you just can't access it. So I'm thinking if you can undo the changes you made while booted into cyanogen, then boot into a lee droid/core droid or any other stock rom all of your data should be there. Don't try to restore the nandroid you made or you will just end up stuck with the "no home screen". I just had you make that just in case of "worst case scenario" you could manually push the data from that nandroid to a working rom.

What I've done in last hours:
Installed IceColdSandwich Rom and it shows contacts. So the second problem fixed. I've created ackup from contacts and apps, But messages made me crazy!

I extracted nandroid backup. As I noticed Contacts and Messages are stored in .DB files in this path. I even opened their DB files using some SQL-Lite viewers and all contacts and messages are here, but when I restore messages files it doesn't show anything.

I tried: MIUI ROM, CoreDroid, Cyanogen and even the Revolution HD (My default Sense based Rom before this problem).
I also restored only data folder using "advanced restore" in 4EXT recovery after wiping and clean installing some roms but it didn't. I removed "Optimize toolbox" ( the main murderer of my phone) but I don't remember what happened later and what was the problem!

Now I'll try your suggestion:
-restoring nandroid backup to comeback to start point.
- installing cyanogen
- removing "optimize toolbox" and "titanium backup" and restarting to recovery mode.
- installing sense based rom (for example revolutionary HD)
- asking god to give it back.

I'll tell you the result.

I believe the only way you are going to get your texts back (be able to see them) is if you are back on a stock type rom just because of the differences in the text messaging apps. I don't think they can read each other's database files.

I have to thanks a lot. last solution didn't work as I expected:
Nandroid restored > Cyanogen Installed > I reversed Auto startup settings with autostartup app. There was no frozen app in Titanuim!! I don't know why.
No SMS and no contacts In cyanogen.

Then I restored Revolution HD but when it boots it gives me tons of close warning, frequent restarts, no home screen (just showed boot animation).
I removed SD card. less restarts but no screen. like before adb was able to connect. I copied and overwrote the db files that I'd mentioned in addition another folder "com.android.providers.htcmessage", (i'm not sure if this affects).
then I restart the phone, again no screen and many close warnings, but when I plugged the USB cable "pc connectivity screen" appeared just for 2 seconds and the default mode was "internet pass through". I changed it quickly to "HTC Sync". Actually I tried more than 10 times to connect it in HTC Sync mode. And then... BINGO!!
91 PC Suite detected the phone and my messages was there. Then I made a quick backup using 91 pc suite, MobileGo, Export to txt....
interesting part was the contacts. there was only 1 contact!! doesn't matter because I'd had a contacts backup using IceColdSandwich rom, and application backup using cyanogen and now the messages backup using Revolution HD.

Tools that I used in this 2 days surgery:
ADB, QTADB, EasyTether, 91 PC Suite, Mobile GO, Android drivers, HTC Sync, SQL-Lite Manager, SQL-Lite Browser, Corederoid Rom, Cyanogen, Revolution HD, IceCold Sandwich, AndroidTools, win32diskimager (to make image from SD card), Busybox, MyBackup Pro, Autostartup, Titanium Backup. !!

Now it's time to install a fresh rom. Next step: finding the best rom for DHD.

Not trying to hijack this thread but I could write an app that does this.
I could make use of gscript, how it would work is something like this-
files get renamed temporarily to say ".apb" then a menu is populated with
little icons of which apps are temporarily disabled, so you would pick them
out of a menu, when you touch the icon it would run a gscript renamer script
which would rename it back to .apk then launch the program.

It would obviously add some launch delays, and there would be the added
memory cost of the launcher menu app, those are givens, but I could try
and make it as resource friendly as possible. Let me know if you think this is
something that would be in demand.

Im "sono***litch" by the way, I am the first person to make a flash player for
the iphone (mine ran on all arm processors unlike others) so I dabble in programming
a bit

I would love an app like this since there is a totally out of control startup system in android and no remedy so far.
Please let me know if you are making progress and like me to test it for you.
