ADB on Mac Lion -- Strange problem

When I connect my device via Debugging ,
I can see the phone and the serial no. in the system profiler
but when I enter adb devices ,
no devices ...

While if i connect my device to Ubuntu ( I have already set up rules.d in it )
My adb works fine

Still I am not able to figure it out as to y this must happen ..

A help is appreciated

I had the same problem, and my solution was to install Windows in VMWare so that I can mess with my phone while running Mac OS.

Maybe it works for you, too?

Sounds like a "path" problem to me but you seem to savvy to to have such a problem; so, I did some digging and found this file in my archives "apkinstall_v1_4". in it there is a file adbmac that is listed as just a "file". Perhaps you require this file to run adb on your mac.
