Root ADB USB Debugging W/ Freedompop Desire

I noticed that my new Desire had no Developers options. I managed to snag a ROM and yank the settings.apk and settingsprovidor.apk in order to bring back the menu for developer options, but I have still been unsuccessful in getting USB debugging to actually work. Anybody have any idea where that lives? (Which apk is USB debugging typically found, or any way to hack it to work).

Other interesting find is that apparently the seeder app with the placebo effect was installed and activated on this device.

I got it. Apparently it was working after I flashed the alternative settings, just I couldn't see the icon. Editing the /system/build.prop and changing persist.adb.notify=0 to persist.adb.notify=1 brought the debug icon that I was looking for back. If anybody is interesting in the settings.apk that I have (they look terrible, but it works) let me know

Hey laptopfreek0,

Just wanted to let you know that I've moved your thread over to the all-things-root area for you.

Also, did you try the "tap the Build number in the Settings -> About phone 7 or 8 times" thing? (I don't know what version of Android you're on, but I think/thought that should work on the more recent versions of Android).

Cheers!
