Root Adb?

Hey everyone I wanted to install a new boot animation but after reading it seems I need adb to install the animations. What is it? I read up on it but I really need it broken down into noob terms if anyone has the time. Thanks

I'll just hijack your thread since you are done with it...heh...

I can and do use ADB, but I have one problem. I can not get it to "push" anything. I make sure the file is in the tools folder, etc. If I place the file on the root of the SD card, then move it into place with ADB, it works fine (that is how I installed my custom boot anim.)

Any ideas on why I can't get ADB to push?
