Help Add a simple 'beep' profile?

ive been playing around with several profile apps and cant seem to find one that will just let me add a simple beep profile.
either use it in conjunction with my current phones profiles / create all my profiles under the app and switch between them.
any recommendations, i keep running into problems with the apps ive tried and thought id ask for recommendations?
 
On Nokia phones it's the profile called "meeting" - it simply makes a subtle short "beep" noise when you receive a call/text - perfect for using at work.

It would be good if the Desire had this feature...I guess you could set it up manually but it would be a bit of a pain to change back and forth.
 
oh im sorry i didn't realise i didn't explain that i meant creating a profile that beeps, so receiving texts / calls etc and only produce a beep.

I tried that profiles app and i thought it would be perfect; however i couldn't control the volume and if your only wanting a beep you want to be able to hear it :). unless anyone has solved this?

im trying quick profiles and im running into some rather large problems which make it useless, emailed the dev in case it is me but not sure ill get a reply.
 
I've been using AudioGuru for a while, it is not as flexible as a Nokia type Profile manager but seems to do a reasonable job in my opinion.

thanks for the suggestion can you set a profile where you can change a 'ring / message tone'?
the apps description isnt clear.

Sorry I obviously didn't read your question fully. AudioGuru will not let you change the actual ring/messgae tones, but it can let you turn the ringer off and have it only on vibrate.
I have found nothing better to be honest. Having had various nokias for years I do miss the flexibility of a full profile manager.

Why don't you add a custom sms beep mp3, that is the volume you want it to be?

That would mean i have to have that custom mp3 all the time, im wanting a profile that i can use when at work / in a meeting and thus not all the time.

i might be getting somewhere with QuickProfiles will update if i get it right.
 
Yes, I am also missing a "beep profile" on my Desire.

And no, putting a small "beep" mp3 as a ring tone doesnt work: the phone will keep looping that ringtone over and over and over and over while the phone is ringing :(

If there just was a way to stop the phone from looping the ringtone......
 
well instead of putting a 'small' beep mp3 file, why not simply edit it so that it's a 30 second sound segment with just one beep at the begining and the 29.5 seconds of silence after it.
e.g. use audacity
 
Tasker! create your own profile so when ever you switch on this Say"Meeting" mode, sms, phone, notification will all just beep at whatever volume you set in the tasker profile.

That's a really poor workaround tbh :P First of all, 30 seconds isn't enough. I'd have to have a 2 minute file. A lot of people are really dumb, and will let the phone ring 'till their ears bleed believing that if it just rings long enough someone will eventually pick the damn phone up.
So, if you're listening to music and the phone rings, it will interrupt the music playback with that mp3 ringtone - giving you a nice two minute break in the middle of your nice relaxing music break.



I'm very surprised at the lack of ringtone profiles on android tbh.
I'm used to Nokia's ringtone profile system.
Beeps, fading ringtone, single ringtones (not looped), separate control of the vibrator for both ringtone and sms/mms.

Why are these things missing? And why arent there any proper (working) apps that does this yet? :(
 
I used Zedge to download a beep ringtone and then used profiles and it was fine.

The profiles app is easy to install, use and does not consume much battery; however it does not allow for a true meeting profile to be added. because if there are personal ringtones saved for users the profile ringtone is ignored and the phone rings. An option (tickbox) should be added stating "Profile Ringotne Override Personal Ringtones" should be added which would override the personal ringtone, so for meeting profiles the user can override it so the phone simply beeps, and for other profiles the personal ringtones are applied. A option for the phone to only ring for certain user groups would also be great. The best profile app available for android but does not meet my requirements so have unfortuanately uninstalled.
