i've been searching unsuccessfully for any information on repairing what appears to be broken outlook/gmail account functionality on my Optimus V; a couple days after i got this phone i was able to successfully add my gmail account and my corporate email account ; several days later, my corporate account information is gone and i'm not sure what happened (it seemingly simply vanished)
When i try to re-add it, under Accounts & Sync settings, (my gmail account is there) i click "Add account" and the "Corporate" and "Google" icons are there below Twitter but they are both 'greyed out' (twitter is not, its blue as expected)
if i click either one to try and add account info, i'm allowed to input an email address/password and choose "Done" and it takes me to the "you can configure an Exchange acount in just a few steps" screen with "next at the bottom ; Next is greyed out and does nothing if i click it
If i try to add an email account by clicking the email icon on my desktop, the same thing happens, i can enter an email address and password and click done, but "manual setup" and "next" are both greyed out
I reached out to VM support and after 3 days they sent me "directions" on how to fix this that did not seem to be for my phone (None of the options they mentioned were on my phone)
i've been contemplating doing a factory reset, but was unsure what the full affect of that is (I know it will wipe out apps i've downloaded, which is easy enough to fix ; would i need to re-activate the phone?) i haven't done it because i can still access my corporate/gmail accounts via the browser and since last weeks outage (and subsequent 'upgrades to thier network' my internet access on the phone has been great, whereas prior to that, it was dropping out alot)
Any suggestions? (is there a way to 'restore' just the outlook/gmail apps?)
