Adding a 2nd Gmail Account to my android phone

I want to add a 2nd Gmail Account to my android phone.
But only want to use it to download the email for that account, not associate with my play account or anything else.

Is it possible to do that?
Also will the mail auto download , how does it work with 2 accounts?

Yes you can. Just add it in the settings then turn off the sync for contacts, calendar, etc.

Will it just auto download the mail for that account then? And not change anything to do with the other default gmail account?
Only want it to go to my phone for a short while until the emails to that account I am waiting for come.

It won't change anything. Just add it to whatever email app you use. You can have 15 email accounts on the phone and it won't matter.

Yup, got a few Gmail accounts on mine as well.. individualized syncing, etc.

That's what I want. Just to get the emails I am waiting for in that account. Not to use as my main one . And the default one works just the vsame as normal no conflict?
If I click on any programs eg. Colornote, weather, Evernote, overdrive quick pic they will open as normal?

Everything will iperate as normal. The app was designed to handle multiple email accounts in the first place anyway.

Dude, you may add it and do not synchronize, and if you synchronize at that moment as well it would be harmful.

All the actions of both the gmail accounts would be separate!

You can sync multiple Gmail accounts to the device without issues.

I think as long as you will be logged into account 1 you will receive mails and other data on that account while other account will be inactive

No, email will be received with no problems for all accounts with sync selected. Ch
