Help Adding a language to i7500

plissje

Newbie
hi all,
ive read abit on forums and used the guide to upgrade my firmware to h7 with odin.
Now the new version doesnt include my local language and i would like to add it to the phone, is ther any way to do that?

thx in advance.

Please give further details.
- What is your local language?
- Do you mean in the OS (menus, etc) or they virtual keyboard?

AFAIK the OS language is fixed (I'm pretending to be in the UK so I can have English menus), but there are tons of keyboard replacements in the Market.

Personally, I use Scandinavian Keyboard and a Danish dictionary. :)

I'm from Brazil and here we have a similar problem.

After flashing the ROM we do have the pt-PT Locale but we don't have the pt-PT or pt-BR dictionary anymore.

Is there a way to restore a dictionary?

I guess they are talking about the dictionary used by the keyboard for input correction, word prediction and auto-completion.

Though I suppose there may be keyboards in the Market with pt-PT or pt-BR dictionary.

i was under the impression you could download a "user-dictionary" (not like a translator) and specify to use that with pretty much any keyboard? (which is what i meant in that earlier post)

Yes, I was talking about the keyboard dictionary. :^)

In Brazil the Market is only freeware enabled, so paid options aren't available.
I'll check if there is a free option (anyone knows if there is one?).

I have a Nandroid backup of my original firmware (that have the pt-BR dictionary). Is there a way to restore the keyboard dictionary?
Kind of copy some files, etc. (my phone is rooted).

Thanks guys!
