adding dial code for international calls

I have to add a prefix to my international number to make cheap calls form the uk.

Dial a code for three is the cheapest, you have to put a 6 digit code wait and then dial the international number.

How do you put the prefix ---- pause -----international number into one contact? nokia can do it!

Any help much appreciated!

I dont know how to do it but I do know it is in the handbook. Available as a .pdf from HTC's website if you don't have one.

And Android does it too. I've been doing this type of dialing for years on my various cell phones (calling work with a hidden extension number), and the Desire does it just as easy as any other phone.

Just add a new contact, when entering the phone number the popup dialing keyboard has a P and W in the upper left. P is a two second pause, and W is wait for second dialtone. Just add a P for each pause you want and you can add as many as you want 2,3,4 or more. So 3 P's would give you a six second pause. Then enter the rest of the dialing string as needed. You can have multiple sections of pauses too. The dialing string might look like this:

222-333-4444PPP333P22 (or any other combination you need)

The Wait for dialtone is handy if you're unsure of the pause time or if it changes, and the system pauses without any sound, then a second dialtone is heard where you continue to dial the numbers. The Wait will wait indefinitely until it hears a dialtone again, but note that if the dialtone turns off very briefly and back on again, the Wait may not catch it and the phone will keep waiting and appear to do nothing.

Often the Pause feature is the most useful and consistent.

Hey, if what you want is to add a dialing code automatically when dialing, you should try IntlPrefix app.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boogersoft.intlprefix

I travel regularly between countries. In europe, I just dial +xx number, but in the US I must dial 010xx number, and in Japan I must dial 0061010xx number to get cheaper rates. IntlPrefix does everything for me automagically.
