Adding long words/strings to Swype

So on my old Droid X I could select a long string -- for example droidxusernyc@gmail.com -- press the Swype button, and add that to the Swype dictionary. So in the future I could Swype that entire letter string at once. This was fantastic.

But I can't figure out how to do it on my new T-bolt -- anyone???

type out what you want. Then long press on the word and select all. Then press the swype button and it will add to dictionary.

On the T-bolt, if I tap type out a word and then long press on it, I get 3 choices -- Select Text, Select All, and Input Method. Then I Select All. Then I hit the Swype key and... nothing. And I know the word is not added b/c when I try to swype it after that it doesn't work. The method you outlined worked fine... on my previous device the Droid X. But the T-bolt appears to be a different story...

Any T-bolt user out there who have figured this out?

This works on my thunderbolt. I know because I did it when you posted your question.

since you guys are talking about Swype, i take it swype is working fairly good for you.

i only ask cause i cant seem to get it to work all that well. i end up having to type each word out manually cause i just get a highlighted outline aroud the keyboard when i try to swype

I take it you didnt sign up for the beta testing over on the swype website? You just downloaded the APK file right?

I downloaded the beta from the swype website. I get the same problem after restarts and thought it was a known problem. You have to switch to another input method and then back to swype, and it'll work.
