adding music from SD to ringtone?

Hi folks,

added music to SD card ( I accidentally formatted so initial file structure was gone). I created a Music folder and dumped some mp3s in there.
Now I can play them through music player, view them in Astro File Manager, but they are not available to select for phone ringtone.

Any ideas?

You can use astro file manager to set a ringtone,just navigate to the song you want to set,long press it,choose music options then set as ringtone.

get ringdroid app from market.it is the business letting you pick any bit of a mp3 for however long you want for ringtone or notification.i have a 2 sec drum beat from a madness song as my text notification and a section of an old dexys midnight runners song as my ringtone.keep being asked by mates to edit a section of their favorite song for their phone ringtones lol

play any mp3 in your default player and while playing press menu -> set as ringtone

I discovered the "set as ringtone option" in music player yesterday.

I shall give ringdroid a go, sounds just what I need, thanks fatwaz
