adding phone numbers

Hi all, I've been sent a text message with a friend's new land line number in it and couldn't find a way to add to my people list. I ended up writing it down and entering it manually - is there a way around this?

Does it appear as a clickable link? You should just be able to press it and you'll get an option to add it as a contact to the phonebook?

Are you using the standard messaging app?

I am using the standard messaging app and the number does appear as a clickable link, but when I click it it I am taken to my "phone" and there are various options but I can't see one to add it to my contacts.

I tried long pressing it, but that only gives me the option to copy (which I guess I could do if all else failed).

You should get Call, Send Message, Add Contact & Save to Existing Contact. It might take a while to appear?

That's what I get, admittedly it's a different phone, but still Sense 3.0 & Android 2.3.5 so it should still work.

That's what I get when I get a message FROM a new number, but when the number is just in the message (it's a landline and, of course, the message is from a mobile number) I just get the following ... hope you can see screen shots






It's not a huge deal, but it would be handy.

If you dial the number, hang up, can you add it to your phonebook via the recent calls list?
