Help Adding ringtones & notification sounds

trying to create notification tones to my contacts through astro on my samsung galaxy s3 i have tried but not getting anywhere,it goes into mnt/sdcard/music the ringtones are there but cant add them as notification tones, hope someone can put me on the right track thank you

Most people use ES File Explorder.. much much easier to use and a better app all around.

This is where they go

/sdcard/Alarms
/sdcard/Notifications
/sdcard/Ringtones

Or

Choose the song you want and play it in your music app (I chose my mp3 directlyt from inside of ES File Explorer. Up top you should see a little bell icon, tap on it and make your selection "Set Ringtone", "Set Alarm", "Set Notification". I normally just copy them over to one of the above folders. Seems easier.

This is the trick I use to add custom sounds and keeps them synced across multiple devices. Add the directories Alarms, Notifications, Ringtones with mps3 to a dropbox folder. On the device in the dropbox app, favorite (keep a local copy) the sounds you want. Android will pick them up and add to to the appropriate options. I haven't tried it but I assume this will work for google drive app also.

I dragged a media dump from evo 4g lte and some other phones to the appropriate media folders on my galaxy nexus when plugged in via USB... rebooted the nexus..

Went to view ringtones and notifications and they are not there. Am I putting the files in the right place??

So for those who have the Nexus are you able to add custom sounds (ringtone/notifications)?

On ginger you add it to the ext SD card by creating and audio folder etc. since this Nexus has no SD card how are you able to add these?

Thanks...
