I called boost and changed my phone number,and now when i go to call my voicemail it says "SORRY (says my phone number) is not a recognized mailbox"..incoming calls come through until it gets to voicemail and it says the same thing...ideas anyone???

Yep just happened to me, you will have to call boost customer service and have them turn it on, mine was working 5 mins after I got off the phone with them...........

This is the way I got thru to a actual person:

Their system recognizes the # you are calling from. Select the 2nd option as though you're calling about a different #, and when prompted to enter 10 digit # enter 10 zero's, it will repeat your number again but push zeros again
 
Tried that..it ended up hanging up on me..you know what the weird thing is? I hit my data cap about a week ago, and have had crappy speeds like 25 kbps tops..after I changes my number, I have been getting 2.50 mbps on a constant since the number change about 8 hours ago.could they have reset my throttle when they changed my #? If so I might just have to change my number once a month..lol
 
Well I was going to, but when I woke up and checked it and its workin great now.guess it was just a delay on their part or somethin..changed my number alot of about 5 times since I been with boost and nothing like this ever happened.but at least its fixed.BUT THANKS FOR THE INFO ANYWAYS GUYS!
 
Glad to see you got it up and working. You changed your number 5 times?! I ported my number from Alltel and have had the same number ever since. Were you getting too many calls from an ex-girlfriend? lol
 
Actually no..lol.it was people from overseas threatening to put me in prison if I didnt pay them so much $$ cuz there was a case against my social security #.whatever that means..it was a big scam that was going around...take my advise..NEVER APPLY TO ANY ONLINE PAYDAY ADVANCES.THATS HOW OT STARTS.
 
I told them come on with it..lol.even went as far as calling me at work saying they were gonna kick my door in.I told em go ahead.cuz me and my N.R.A. buddies need to get some target practice in anyways...lol

That bites, scam artists and identity thieves suck. I never apply to those and tend not to give out my number to people I don't know, for the rest (random SMS caster ad's and the like) I have Extreme Call blocker. It filters the calls and texts and MMS. If the number isn't on my contact list, it doesn't get through. ;)
 
Ya well they were even accredited with the better bussiness beauro.eventhough none of their companies were real..
 
It used to be a good thing if someone was accredited through the bbb but these days you can actually pay to be "accredited"

Go To Settings, About Phone, System Updates And Update The Prl And Firmware, once it updates. reboot the phone and u should be gud. The phone locks ur old number until u do this......
 
He already got it fixed. Also, PRL and Firmware updates don't affect that. The provisioning/profile update does. If you notice that he stated that incoming calls were having the issue also, and that would make it a problem on Boost's side anyways and not the phone.
 
Hey im gonna go ahead and ask the admin to close the thread unless u guys wanna keep it open for some reason
