Root Admire + root doubts...

I have a Samsung Admire (obviously XD) and well I've been reading a lot about metroPCs and stuff, thing is my phone is not a Metro Pcs... actually I see everyone talking about 2.3.4 and stuff and my phone is 2.3.6!

So now I'm asking,

Is the 'One-Click Root' able to root any kind of SAD?
Do the 2.3.4 guides work on any 2.3.x version?
What bricks a phone? Rooting(Unsuccessful/Successful) or Flashing?
Are you sure 100% percent?(Above answer)
What is flashing a ROM anyways?

I know some of this answers can just be google-d, or even forum search, but some are just unclear... little help.

As long as you are aware that rooting your phone will void the warranty then i say go for it.
Rom manager will brick your phone right now..but thats because they don't have compatability with our phones yet.
If its not a metropcs phone then installing a rom will most likely result in you losing service unless the correct apn info is in the rom.
What service are you with?
flashing a rom is basically removing the original active rom in your phone and replacing it with another compatible version that has more attributes and a better look (depending on your style)

As others have said, DO NOT install ROM Manager as is will brick your phone.
Some other things that can brick you Admire are:

*Messing with or Deleting Build.prop or Defalt.prop
*Uninstalling Google_Korean_IME.APK
*Uninstalling myMetro.APK

Literally it stands for Read Only Memory, in this case referring to the phone's internal memory where your firmware/apps are stored. When people say they're flashing a new ROM, it means they are flashing a new version of the firmware onto their phone - the two terms are interchangeable.

A custom ROM (firmware released for the phone by anyone except for Huawei) might have performance tweaks, new features such as overclocking and so on. I believe the most popular custom rom for your phone is Cyanogen 6 or 7, which are both vanilla android firmware.
