ads have doubled? what do you guys use to block?

Using Chrome with adblock on and I don't see anything but the white blocks where the ads should be.
I disabled Adblock for a bit and the ads certainly seem more "in your face" than they used to be (or more so than I remember anyway), but I wouldn't say there's more of them. Could that be down to premium membership though?

Yea that intrusive pop up was really annoying but I haven't seen it in a bit.
The banners on the left are a bit distracting.. But they are out of the way so really no usability complaint.. it just breaks concentration (but that's the point).
Anyway it's not a big deal. You guys gotta make revenue. I just wish they were a bit smaller.
I always felt noscript blocked too much, never really gave it a chance though. Got fed up with FF lately and been all chrome....

Will it EVER be??? It's advertise as such. I remember Woop used to constantly badgered you about this. If you can't, then don't state it as one of the reason for members to go Premium. Not that I paid much to be premium

I know you're busy and everything but it's one of the annoyance when I see a 'company' (the forum) can't deliver on the promise.

I've complained about this very heavily.There's nothing more I can do short of replacing his image. I could just implement it myself by simply not allowing the popups or whatever to show for premium - but I would very likely get into some trouble for that. If I remember correctly we are supposed to.. not selectively hide ad code - but rather replace it with ad agency supplied code that does the legwork.
I think that was what I was told anyway.

The complaint isn't towards you but 'AF' in general. I was just saying if you can't reduce the ads as advertise, then take that out of the pitch

If someone is going to pony up $20.00 for six months of premium access it seems at least they (we) could get is a thank you email with a link to a free (AF approved) add blocker.
I use Ad Muncher myself, yes it cost money but it's updated almost daily and has great support from the authors (just like AF
).
However there are many free options out there.
