Help Ads in notification area

Hi,

I installed some application along the way that is putting advertising in my notification area. Also on occasion a new app icon will show up on one of my pages.

Is there any way I can figure out what app is doing it instead of just randomly uninstalling apps to see if it goes away?

TIA

i forget when it started, but if you press and hold the notification, and choose app info, it will show you what app is doing it. you can uninstall it right there, or you can uncheck the notification box and i believe it will keep the ads from showing up in the notification bar. i doubt it will stop it from putting it on your home screen though.
i would just delete the app.

but again, i can't remember when it started...if it was an ICS feature or a JB feature. I know for sure it works on JB, but not too sure about ICS

Thanks SO much! THat was so easy! Worked great!

I have addons detector installed which has done a great job identifying apps that do stupid things like that. Make sure once you figure out the offending app that you make note of it in the play store comments.
