Help Ads in Notification

Every once in while I get ads sent to me in my notification bar. If pull down the notification bar and select the ad it launches me into my browser to tell me all about the product or service.

How or why is this happening?

I had an app called MP3 Music Download that was the culprit.

That's very interesting. I haven't come across that before. It is essential to be careful of where you are installing apps from and pay attention to what resources they are using. I hardly ever install something that's not from the android/amazon market.

This was an app from the android market. It's still there listed under Top Free as MP3 Music Download. There are actually 2 of these apps with the same name. The one with the headphones wrapped around a red ball was the culprilt. The one with the speaker and equalizer bars is OK.

This was an app from the android market. It's still there listed under Top Free as MP3 Music Download. There are actually 2 of these apps with the same name. The one with the headphones wrapped around a red ball was the culprilt. The one with the speaker and equalizer bars is OK.

That happend to me, same app too. Deleteing it soon because its happening more & more.

It is known as notification push advertising of companies like
AirPush
LeadBolt
Appenda
IAC
Moolah Media
TapIt
Urban Airship
Xtify

Run 'Addons Detector' and 'AirPush Detector' to find out when one of these AirPush addons is in one of your apps.
With 'Addons Detector' use the filter 'Push Notifications'.
