Help Ads on homescreen

My brother has just gotten an Xperia S and for some reason when he goes to unlock it an ad banner has appeared in the centre of his home screen. It seems to appear randomly. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and havent experienced any ads appearing on my home screen. Is there a way to stop this happening?
 
Sounds like a sneaky app.

Install Lookout and its companion app. i forget the name of it but it should come up with Lookout. Its made by them. It should check for apps like that
