Advce for UK coverage

Carldvs

Newbie
I'm getting the GS2, but have got to the stage where the phone is in my inbox for T-mobile, Vodafone and o2.
I want the best and cheapest deal, equally I don't want to be stuck for a signal. I'm currently with o2 and it's not cheap, but coverage is fine.
Any advice and experience before I take the plunge?
One deal mentioned before has been T-Mobile, 18months for

The networks usually have coverage checkers on their websites, although how trustworthy these are is debatable. How good coverage is depends on your area, there is no easy answer. Orange and T-Mobile should have good 2G coverage as they use each other's masts if their own are out of range (Orange's parent company recently bought T-Mobile UK). Again, it depends on your area and that is only 2G, which means painfully slow data when you switch from the one you sign up with to the other. Talk Mobile is the Carphone Warehouse's own network, it runs through Vodafone so their coverage is the same.

Best thing to do is get some PAYG free sims and check coverage in the most common places you would use your phone (i.e. home, work for me).

Im on Orange and theyre fine for connection, it very rarely jumps on to tmobs network, 3 have great coverage where i am, tomob them selves are horrible for connection alone near me, voda are also pants near me, o2 are good, for me signal alone(ive all the sims and had several contracts with diff networks)

my 123 would be

1) 3
2) o2
3) orange

everyones circumstances are different and signal varies from carrier to carrier and location to location

As everyone has mentioned, it totally depends where you live.

I have experienced good o2 connection/coverage in both West London and Bournemouth/New Forest with my SGS2. Previously, I have also been with Vodafone and T-Mobile and I would say o2 and Voda are on a level pegging in West London. T-Mobile was slightly behind but still good.

3 have great deals, but signal will again depend on where you live.

I would avoid 3 like the plague, Vodafone have best coverage in Uk - FACT But it depends where you are for what is best for you..

Im with T-Mobile and they are pretty good, im happy with them, I like the fact it swtiches to orange signal when I have no t-mob signal.
