I tried using a different kernel to change things and it doesn't work with TouchWiz and ended up in a boot loop. I also don't like barren custom ROMs. The advantages of TW outweigh any disadvantages. I don't hate android or Samsung either. I just think it's not unreasonable to have it my way not their way.

As far as I'm concerned my problems are solved. I just close Aldiko or Amazon MP3 when I'm done with them.
