advertisement in note2

I have sprint carrier.
I recently started noticing that there are advertisement notifications ( with some green or red - star mark ) pops up in my top screen bar and when I scroll down - I see them in my notification entry.....like sometimes, free MCafee virus, or sometimes, free ipod, something like that.....it never used to come such notifications in my phone before......

Can you guys tell me - how to stop those ?

Download AppBrain Ad Detector, let it scan through your apps and uninstall those with Push Notification. Done!

It's aggressive advertising, pushed by ad networks like AirPush and caused by a recently installed or updateted app on your phone.

But I think you've Jelly Bean, that will solve your problem :)

Jelly Bean introducted the feature to indentify the app which created a notification and disable the app's ability for notifications.

Do long press on the advertising's notification, that should pop up an "App Info" button you can press which will tell you which app has created that notification.
Also from there you can conveniently disable the app's ability for notifications, or if you want, uninstall the app.

Yup. They are easy to remove with ad detector software.

Those air push ads are usually bundled in free wallpaper/screensaver programs. That is why I often avoid them.

I have seen phones get them after downloading apps that let the user make ringtones and download music from the app.
