Hi!

I'm thinking about entering the tablet world (I have a lot of travelling to do soon, and a tablet would ease the battery use of my phone, if nothing else) and have more or less narrowed my options down to 3.

I'm not by any stretch of the imagination a power user, using the tablet would mostly be for music playing, podcasts, some web browsing and the usual social media abuse :D

I currently have an HTC Desire phone that does what I need, so something on that level would be fine for me.

I'm looking at the:

Motorola Xoom
Galaxy Tab
Acer Iconia A500

Am I right in thinking that all of these have flash access for web browsing, as well as full access to Google apps and marketplace? The Acer appeals due to it's size and price, but The Motorola looks pretty snazzy when I've seen it in shops. The Samsung's smaller screen kinda puts me off but I could live with it for what I need it for

Is there any one of those that stands out as as must have or must avoid?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'd a small play about with the Acer and Tab in town last week and of the 2, the Acer definitely had a better feel about it. Can't comment on the Xoom, but my mate has one and he says it's immense. Have you also seen the Asus EEE Transformer? It's a tablet, but you can also buy a dock which turns it into a laptop and gives it 6-7 hours more battery life.

They should all support flash, the software is capable and hardware won't be a problem either.

The Xoom def has full access to the market, but the issue is there aren't many apps optimised for tablets yet, but I'm sure that will change in the future. There is a nvidia app called Tegra Zone which will give you games optimized for the Tegra 2 chipset if gaming is your thing?

If you can hold on, Archos are apparently about to release something. Archos are cheap, but the spec on this makes it worth a look in. I know previous Archos devices haven't had access to the full market out of the box, but there should be ways and means around that. ;)
