advice with all the updates please

current software version: 1.15.405.4

I keep getting asked to update and i really want to but i have some concerns.

Will my phone factory reset when i do the upgrades? Will i lose all my contacts with are stored on my phone?

I have also heard stories about the wi-fi not working after updates, have these problem been sorted?
I really need my wi-fi to be working for business.

If you accept it OTA (over the air), please do so on WiFi. It will not factory reset your phone. You can take a backup with mybackup pro free trial and you can replace data and apps this way afterwards to be sure.

On some older updates, some people had issues with wifi, but haven't seen any for a while.

If you get this, try a factory reset as you have already backed up using mybackup.

1.15 is Android 2.1. Do you know what update it is? If its android 2.2, its definitely worth while.

I have had my Desire since they came out and have never done an update. It wants to upgrade to 1.21.405.2

I think i need several updates before i get 2.2 but i will downloaded mybackup and give it a try.

All the little updates in between the major ones should be fine also.

I think 1.21 will be 2.1 update 1 (2.1.1).

If you back everything up, you haven't really got much to lose.
