Help ADW or LauncherPro?

This isn't a typical "which is better" thread. I've tried both launchers in the past and wanted to know which one takes less of a toll on the Incredible's battery, and which slows the phone down the least. The default Sense launcher is nice, but I want something different on my new phone without slowing it down or making the battery life worse than it is already.

I Googled but all I saw were threads for the first Incredible.

Please help me out. Thanks!

I had Launcher Pro on my DINC coupled with the Beautiful Widgets app and Loved it.
I picked up the DINC2 today and installed the same thing on it and I think its great.

Do you know what effect it's been having on your DINC2? Better/worse battery life, slower/faster speeds?

Speed hasnt been a issue so far, in fact it seems faster to me. Battery life...dont know yet since Ive only had the phone for a few hours with it installed.
I'll post back my findings in a few days when I find out.

Thanks, man. I heard that LP actually used less resources than the stock launcher, but I wanna be sure.

Don't know if you're a fan, but GOlauncher ex is pretty good in my opinion. It has tons of good features and you can download and theme their other apps to tie in to the launcher and make it feel like a whole new phone. I've kept an eye on the battery usage and most of the time it doesn't even show up, the most I've seen it use is less than 2% of the battery over an 18 hour span.

Forgot about that one. Gotta try it. Thanks, bro.

I like to fiddle with computers and stuff so this launcher stuff seemed like a fun idea. Just spent the last 3 hours messing with various launchers but right now I'm sticking with Sense.

Do any of the launchers have flight mode widgets? That's important to me since I have a 3 year old that always wants to play with the phone and with all the reports on cell phone radiation I don't want to expose her to how ever much or little radiation these phones do emit.

I'm also using Go Launcher so I would like to compare notes. I've noticed that my phone appears to lag after a while. sometimes it takes a few seconds for all of my applications to load whereas it never does that with the stock Sense. I deleted Go Launcher for about a week and my lag issues seemed to correct themselves but since reinstalling it has returned somewhat. I'm it in conjunction with fancy widgets (to show my battery life and weather) and widget locker. I haven't tried it without these other two yet.

You can always go into Settings and enable Airplane Mode. But if you want a widget for it, I think it's included in the Power Control Widget. If not, you can always venture to the Market.

If you want a single or multi-function widget, Elixir has them, and they work with the various launchers. Of course, you'll have to remake the widgets for each launcher you use.

+1 for LauncherPro Plus.
I used it on my Eris and it was way easier on resources. Smoother cleaner and faster. Now on my DInc2 I ran it until falling in love with sense 3.0 ROMs. But I still have it for when I want to go back. I will eventually I'm sure.
I have tried GoLauncher and ADW but found both to have lag issues I didn't have in LP. The only plus for those was that it seemed to be easier to find themes.
LP, or you might as well clean it up with TP.

Squint;)

Or maybe something like BetterCut to make custom shortcuts and the like...

Might try one of the similar apps to BetterCut. I had trouble getting it to let me make a shortcut without a title, but maybe I missed something.

Just tried it. Can only rename, not remove the label. Aaahhh, we can't win them all.

Not true my friend.

We'll find a way.

EDIT:
OK, so use BetterCut or AnyCut and just create the shortcut, but enter a couple "spaces" or space bar presses as the name. They wont let you enter nothing, but they will let you enter s p a c e as a "name" and it appears on the homescreen as no label.

HA! Got it!

He bows...

I know, but I want to use my Sense 3.0. I like using ADW when I went to have the minimal screen thing going, but Sense 3.0 when I want to have that awesome clock widget and weather widget.
