ADW Update (10/30/2012)

I have to say I have been a long time user of ADW EX so maybe Im biased but they have just updated and I have to say...ITS AWESOME!!! I believe they updated adw and adw ex both. So I just wanted to help people be aware that if you were using adw before it might be time to give it another try! Here are some pix but really the magic is in the settings...so many transitions (for home screen and app drawer) and indicator types and just quite a few new customization options. Like I said I really feel that its worth a look. BTW Im using ROM #2 2.5.4 with bits an pieces of the free ics theme from the play store so your results may vary! PICTURESSS!!!

Home screen. Note the "action bar" at top (its removable). A lot of people commented they dont like it coz it makes the screen size overall smaller but I liked it and it also has different options for the way it looks! ;)

Inside the adw settings. *EDIT* I also forgot to note that if you see the gestures settings option there they have added support to configure MANY MANY different 1 and 2 finger gestures which is kinda cool to me. Also the theme selector area has been completely redone, I wish I had snapped a few pics of it but you'll just have to find out for yourself! =) It does include some nice dropdown boxes for selecting different elements of different themes to piece together your own ultimate theme! ;)

Nice to know there are some other die hard adw fans out there...with holo launcher and the likes and the fact that adw is kinda "old school" now i just thought that not that many ppl were using it. But anyways also good to know it wasn't just me that was impressed with the update too!! :)

Hey thanks for sharing the pic. I think it said in the description they added support for other theme types...I'm guessing like go themes etc though i haven't tried yet. I was looking at the pic and was wondering.

I've been using Adw ex for like 2 years now... I've tried others and never lasted longer than a couple hours before switching back.. Best launcher for smoothness, speed and customizing in my opinion

Yeah, I feel the same way. This new update though is next level for sure. It does have a few kinks to iron out still I admit but overall just amazing. I was playing around with it some more just now and I really like that fling to remove icons. Its fun...lol...or Im easily amused...or both. :D
 
ok so I dont venture outside the all things root section very often, so forgive my confusion, but I was just looking at the show your home screen thing here...Im thinking that for some reason my adw never updated...? This is the first time Ive seen anything like the ics on adw and yet there were some very old posts saying that it got an ics makeover...this was a new update right? OMG how weird if it hasnt been updating until just now....:confused: i feel quite stupid for posting this now if its been out forever. lol
 
It got an update a few months ago. It was just re updated last night to what's in your screen shots.

They added ics folders and a couple other small ics style things o, the update from months ago

ah hahaa well sorry then I guess this was old news. Still looks great though. IDK what happened why I didnt get the original update. LoL weird.

I liked go until i realized i had 15080753268 different go apps to theme my phone...then i got rid of all them and started making themes for custom ROMs....lol. i will never "go" back to go...they got some good stuff i was working with their online theme creator for awhile too which was really pretty nice although limited i have a go mms theme floating around their free store too. But yeah adw all day for me.

Go launcher was my choice all the time even when I flashed a new Rom I would restore my backup of it. Now I like adw more than go launcher lol
 
Around the time ics first came out it got a lil update with some ics features that's why there are old post talking about it. But recently it got a major update wich is what your seeing here
 
I see...well I still never got the first update...:( I hate being out of the "loop" on these things it makes me all confusded. lol. Either way I'm liking it.
 
Idk about all you but I hate the new update.
The UI is better looking but the thing I liked about adw ex is the simplicaty .
Also the one thing that absolutely drives me nuts is the launched appears in running apps, application manager. Which it never used to.
 
It's actually starting to tick me off... Sometimes seems I have to tap an icon twice for it to launch and about 3 times now I've had to go into adw settings and restart adw due to all my icons disappearing. :mad:

This looks nice but is there a way to get the dock to scroll and have folders there? I'm so used to this from holo I couldn't do without it now.
 
I'm not experiencing the double tap thing but i am noticing some unusual lag here and there. I'm sure they are working to resolve these problems. At least i hope so...
