Considering picking up an S3 but I don't want to run into the same battery issues with my current phone. Those of you who have had this phone for a year or more, I would like to know how the battery is treating you during your normal usage. Trying to see if it degrades as bad as others have said

By normal usage, I mean something like: 4GLTE on, some texting, some browsing, Facebook checks, push email, and phone calls. Can you get through a day?

No one's had it a year or more, it's only 10 months old :thumb:

It totally depends on how you use it. If your going to game for long periods, keep a cable handy, if your just doing the usual, few calls, texts, email, social etc, it should still last you most of the day.

That being said, the combo of a more efficient display, bigger battery, and no doubt (but most likely) more efficient coding, would make the S4 much better on battery life than the S3, so if that's an option for you, I'd definitely seriously consider it.

I've never had an issue with the battery. Maybe I'm lucky but I taken it off charge at around 7am and she's still good until 11/12pm when it goes back on charge. Only time it needs a charge in between is if I have navigation on and leave the screen on!

I've been using the same battery since day one, still doing good. Easily get a day of usage out of it. Plus, it's a removable battery anyway, if you're experiencing problems, you get a new battery for about

Battery lasts me all day at work into the night no issues. I do have a spare Anker stock battery and charging cradle for days where I leave work and go to a baseball game that I expect to go late into the evening.

Appreciate the responses. I didn't realize it's actually < 1 year old but close enough I suppose. My phone is the HTC Thunderbolt and after the first year, the original battery just wasn't cutting it. I have been using the Rezound battery as a direct replacement and that worked well, but it's behaving the same way now. The S3 seemed to have everything I wanted hardware-wise. As others have mentioned, the removable battery seems to help, but I was looking to avoid the battery dance this go-around.

I'm one who has my BT audio playing music on all the time when I'm in my car and I have Waze launched almost all the time when I'm in the car. I can sometimes make it the whole day, but sometimes I have to top it up before my commute home from work.

I'm hoping to be able to re-use the chargers from my TB (micro-USB) and it looks like that will at least help as a "just in case" scenario.

funky - That was a great thread to run through, thanks for posting. As the next phone will be for myself and the wife, if I can avoid rooting hers and have stock ROM options to sustain battery, everyone wins.
