It definitely is, but there is great people like (nitsuj17, saps and others) that are always willing to lend a hand. Try JT's v.7 but it is recommended not necessarily to a a backup and then wipe data an cache between ROMS.

I've learned always to make a nandroid, i just have to delete old ones after a while ha, I'll try v.7, as reloading v.9 and stupidfast 1.5.4 didnt work.

I lurked the forums for a while, reading and learning before I joined and tried anything haha.

Have you tried another messaging app? Which one you using?

You actually get the texts, correct? Just notifications for text don't work?

Yes sir, stock messenger app, receives and sends texts fine, just no sound or vibrate notifications.

Well, if you want to quickly try Handcent/Chomp/Go to see if it happens to work it might be a relatively painless solution

Ok, so that works actually haha.
Downloaded chomp, received both aural and vibrate notifications.

Now I just want to figure out whats causing the stock app to fail... hm...

But at least the notification issue is fixed, wont say solved cause the main issue is still there (stock app) but its definitely a way around it!

I know it may sound dumb but did you check in settings and make sure notificaton sounds are turned on/up

I was going into the regular sound settings... not the settings for the stock messenger app itself...

Problem was that they weren't turned on there, just like you said.
