After hitting back button returns to top

I'm confused on how to explain the problem I am having, but will try to be as short-winded as possible. It doesn't matter what I am in (app or settings etc.) but after I hit the back button ( < ) it takes me back to the top or beginning of the screen. For instance, the CNN app, I scroll down to the middle of the page, click on an article to read and tap the back button, it will take me back to the very beginning like i just opened the app. Not where I left off in the middle of the page. Amazon app acts the same way. I thought it might be an app related problem, but it does the same thing in my Settings menu. I can go to Settings/General/Default message app, and when I tap back button it goes back up to the top. Not a huge problem, but can be frustrating at times. Just curious if other people are having this problem or is it just me. If it matter I have Sprint as a carrier and I have the leather model. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I am in Canada, and have a store-bought LG G4.

When I go into Settings and scroll down, then hit Back, the next time I open Settings it is at the top.
When I go into Settings and scroll down, then enter a sub menu, then hit Back, I am scrolled down to where I was looking.
When I go into PaleMoon and scroll down a page, then navigate to another page and scroll down it, when I hit Back I return to the prior page where I left it.

When hitting back to the point that the app closes, it seems to reset state information like what part of it you were looking at - perhaps to save memory.
