After market charging issues

My cat chewed the end off of my stock htc charger so I ordered a different usb cable and just use the htc block that plugs into the outlet. The problem I am having is the phone will say "Phone will charge faster with HTC charger". I could leave the phone on the charger for 10 hours and still only be at 80% battery. Any ideas for a different charger option or do I have to fork out the money for an original HTC one? Thanks in advance.

Just bite the bullet and get a Nokia Fatboy wireless charger. Yes, it is fifty bucks. But you will be so thankful you have it. Once you go wireless, you can never go back. Especially with the annoying micro usb cover on the DNA! I know the price hurts at first, but you will soon see what you have been missing.

So this product will work with the DNA right out of the box? The DNA has the wireless charging built in correct? Last question, I'm finding them for less then $60 so where can I find one for $50?

I was told at verizon the cable did matter. The amount of volts the cable can handle is the important part...I was also told some cables will only charge and not tranfer data.

Sounds like there's something wrong with the AC adapter. May have burnt itself out due to overheating etc. I'd recommend trying a different AC-USB adapter and seeing if that will work.

I have used a ton of USB cables to charge my DNA and they all work. Of course, I got most of them form the same place (monoprice.com), so I guess that isn't surprising.

Bottom line is if a USB cable can't charge the phone or carry data, it is junk and should be thrown away. The cables cost <$1.00, so just replace them.
