I started with a 2.2 captivate and in a attempt to change the kernel using odin I soft bricked the phone 
and ended up with a phone/pc icon. I was finally able to get it into download mode and revert it back to 2.1.1 and now I cannot sync my contacts, connect to the market to download apps, and even rom manager gives me a error stating it cannot connect. However I able to make calls and surf the web on my captivate. I cant figure it out, ive tried to delete the market cache even a factory reset and still nothing. I wanted to try out a few of the roms out there but if I cant figured this out ill just screw it and update back to 2.2 and hope that fixes my problems. Any ideas guys?
Im somewhat of a newb about flashing with 2.2. I was able to do it fine with 2.1 and I kept reading about how the new recovery menu blocks clockwork mods (3e) and I wanted to get to the old style menu. I read something about changing the kernel to allow unsigned stuff.
