Root after root, battery life horrible

Newbie
I just rooted last night and today my battery life has been horrible. It has been mostly idle for the entire day (since 6am, that's when i woke up) and yet it is now under 20% (at 5pm). Anyone have similar issues? Before it would last at least 20 hours...

Sounds like you have a rogue app installed that isn't allowing your phone to sleep. Install spare parts from the market and check battery history under "Partial wake usage" to see if you can locate the problem...

@Lars i didn't do anything except root (and install wireless tether which i also ran but while it was plugged in)
hmm...the battery life was acting normal again today, so maybe it was just a glitch? i will continue to monitor in the continuing days and try your suggestions. thanks for responding!

IF you installed the "new" Facebook app that maybe a cause.
There is a drain problem with the current update per Facebook checkout BGR.

pick up SetCPU on the market and underclock your phone. it'll work wonders on your battery life.

Your phone already automatically under clocks like all modern processors much less one that is designed for low power consumption.

I noticed there had been a few FB app updates in the past week or so. But the battery problem only lasted for one day, so either it was a glitch or maybe FB was updated again after that one day (maybe they discovered the problem fast enough)
