Help After Verizon update...OK GOOGLE not working

Just updated the OTA patch from Verizon for my HTC One M8. Now the google search bar has the new google logo, but saying "OK GOOGLE" does nothing. When I press the microphone button on the right side of the bar, a white window opens with the new Google logo at the top, but nothing works. I have checked my settings to ensure that enhanced google options are enabled under languages in the settings menu, and I am running the Google Now Launcher that I have been running for 4 months.

I have changed NOTHING except to apply the OTA update that Verizon pushed out to me, and now OK GOOGLE doesn't work.

Any help you wonderful folks could offer would be outstanding. I went back to the Sense launcher and the same thing...no more OK GOOGLE. I was just getting used to it.

Please help!

I just finished the same update and "OK Google" has been given a facelift and still works. Actually the entire Google app is now in color. I don't know what the version was before, but now it is 5.2.33.19 arm. What I have done when "OK Google" has stopped working was to reboot my phone in safe mode and see if it works. If it still doesn't work, then it is a hardware problem and you need Verizon support. If it does work, then it's software. Reboot the phone again in normal mode. If nothing else has changed, "OK Google" should work again. At least it works for me. Good luck.

Thank you. UPDATE. When I open google app, and then try to go to settings...the screen flashes and then goes back to the "cards" screen. This Verizon update screwed up the phone. I should not have to carry it to Verizon, or doubt the hardware. I will try what you suggested. Thank you for the help.

I just took the Verizon update this morning. My Google app works as before. "ok Google" does work. I did notice as the update was downloading, the Google app started a play store update followed by a Twitter update. Hope yours starts to work too. Try uninstalling the Google app updates then reinstall.

Tried safe mode...no go. Will try to uninstall google app updates. This is why i don't like to patch....but this was supposedly to patch a security hole. Just give us Marshmallow already.

*update...it won't let me uninstall updates, can't clear cache. Company phone that is encrypted so I can't root or factory reset. How can I go back? Frustrating.

*edit 2 I cleared a few things out on deeper screens in application settings and it seems to have "kicked it right".

Thanks all.

Sorry that didn't work. Another place to try is in Settings, under Security and then Device Administrators. Sometimes certain Administrators block "OK Google". After my upgrade, lots of apps got updated. (They still are) If you notice one checked, that wasn't before, start by unchecking that. If everything looks the same, try unchecking one at a time. If that doesn't work, I've got one more thing to try. That is Google's "Android System Webview" app. It has to do with internet browsed but for some reason it conflicted with OK Google a few months ago. If you don't upgrade much that could be it. Go to your App manager and uninstall the updates. Restart your phone by shutting it off and turning it back on. Do not use "Restart". See if that helps.

I've had to re-train the OK GOOGLE in voice settings after updates on other phones.
Sometimes, I've found it turned-off after updates as well.

Last suggestions from me.
1. Another setting to check is "Accessibility". I just turned one on and it killed my "OK Google". I had to turn it off a restart my phone to get it back. So turn all of them off, turn your phone off(not restart) and turn your phone back on. If it now works, you can turn on one "Accessibility" at a time to see which is the problem.
2. If that doesn't help, "Google" "troubleshoot ok google". That will give you all sorts of places to look.
