Help Agent at official Verizon store says 4.3 update Nov 17th.

Good day faithful Note 2 owners and communicators.

Yesterday I went to an official Verizon store in El Paso, TX to activate a Note 2 on my wife's account. She previously had an iphone 4 and hated the new ios7, so I bought her a real phone. While making small talk with the agent who always seems to help us when we go to that store, he mentioned the Galaxy Gear smart-watch, he then mentioned "Note 2's will be compatible with the Galaxy Gear, with a new update after November 17th". Although I have not seen official confirmation from Verizon or Samsung anywhere on the interwebs, this is a good solid for us faithful Note 2 owners waiting for 4.3!

Best Regards

I'm on my 5th Verizon Android phone. For each and every one of them, someone has had an "Official Verizon" person tell them that the update was coming out on a specific date and I have yet to see one that was correct. From what I understand, the VZW personnel find out about an update when Verizon announces it. I truly hope this is different, but have my reservations about it.

I do hope there will be an update... I am in this contract with my network for a while now and still have a year to go as of next month.... I do wish phone companies think of people who have this issue.

It makes sense that they would push to get it out prior to Christmas, giving Galaxy Gear watch gifters time to make their purchase.

Well looks like the agent was only off by 12 days, not bad. Hopefully Verizon can stay on schedule and deliver 4.3. Seems there are a ton of posts about this subject now on this forum and nobody wants to thank me :(

I wonder if it's pressure from the public (trying to improve their late-update image) or pressure from Samsung that's making our 4.3 update so "early". :D

So far it looks like the leak might be dead on. OTA documents for the Verizon S4 update are out, so it looks like a rollout should be coming soon.

I'd love the widgets on my lock screen, but what other benefit is there to 4.3? ANything special to the Note 2? The galaxy gear watch is pretty good looking, but seriously, $300 for a watch that does almost nothing?

The feature that I like is the addition of support for TRIM, which gives a performance boost. If you're rooted, there is an app you can install that serves the same function, lagfix.

People spend much more on watches that do much less. Im considering the galaxy gear and I don't really like watches. Mainly I want the gear to impress women......lol

Just a FYI, we just had an update last week for the Note 10.1 (2014), for which I was rooted, but stock recovery. Like many others, I received a "system modified" message and the upgrade wouldn't even download. The fix was to use Odin to flash the stock firmware from SamMobile, then take the upgrade. Some had to factory reset before they could take the update, I didn't.

This was just a stability/performance update. We're already on 4.3.

Patiently waiting, this has been the longest wait ever. The sad part is, after I DL the ota update, I will then be forced to wait until somebody at XDA figures out a root method for the 4.3 on the note 2 so I can clean out all the bloatware.

Ahh the anxiety....

:confused:I have the Note 10.1 and I am still on 4.1.2. I check for updates quite frequently. When did you get 4.3 on the Note 10.1? I want my update!

2014 Note 10.1 comes with 4.3 natively. :D

Ohhhhhh, I see. I have the original Note 10.1. I didn't even realize there was a new one out, or is it the same, just a more recent purchase?

I have had my Note 10.1 for almost 2 years and still love it like it's brand new :D

That being said I wouldn't mind the update to 4.3

I don't know, but I'm not looking forward to the 4.3 update. Can't change the 'Hi Galaxy' in S Voice, can't have swipe (with shortcuts) and PIN lock together and a few other things that I like they replaced, moved or whatever. I've actually disabled my auto update in the Note 2 because of it. I'll wait and see if and when it comes out what others say before I make a final decision.

Faster, smaller, higher resolution, home button.... Surprised you haven't heard about it. :D

I used to always look for the "Latest and Greatest". Now I have the Note 2 and the Note 10.1, both work with no major issues. So I haven't felt that pull to the new tech release sites. :)

Either that or I am getting to old and sticking with the status quo. :D
