Ah...surprised me! I didn't know...Tips thread

You can get the app Any Cut and do it. Open it > New Shortcut > Activity then scroll to the app you want, select it and hit OK. I did it with the Mirror app.

I'm trying to get this to work and having no luck. :(

I was having no luck with this either, but I thought they were saying to have the top of the phone (i.e., the edge with the power button) facing the ground. I think this actually means having the back cover facing up. That, for me, worked. And there is a toggle setting for this under "sound" settings.

My setting is checked, finding that setting is how I know it exists. I'll have to keep trying. I was calling out and just tried it while the other phone was ringing. I'll have to try during a connected call but I can't imagine that would make any difference.

I always use speakerphone since I'm paranoid about having the signal being received right by my brain so it would be really handy.

Thanks to the person who brought this up in the other tip thread and the person that answered it.

You can resize text in the stock message app by pinch/zoom!!

And last but not least, told to me by HelenofTroy08, flip your phone over when you are on a call and it will go to speakerphone. Great when you need it! (like in a car, handsfree State)

Settings/Sound/Flip For Speaker

^ i tried the flip-it-over thing the other day. It didn't work for me either... then i hit the speakerphone button. Will have to try again later.... maybe we're supposed to shake it too or flip it over with great force and hit it on the table like we mean it!! j/k :)

(edit: my setting is already enabled)

My Rz speaker phone mode works flawlessly when flipped over... but only when I lay it on my desk. Perhaps perfectly level is a must.
Either that or the sensor that it has for turning off the screen has to be covered up. It's at the top right by the beginning of the Verizon check. If you make a call and have the phone in the dark you can see it, a very faint red light.

Yep, I think that's it. If you turn it over and don't lay it on a table no speakerphone, but if you then just cover it with your hand it goes to speakerphone. Problem with this function is when you turn it back over speakerphone turns off. I use speakerphone all the time as I'm paranoid of holding it up near my brain and of using a bluetooth earpiece for the same reason of not wanting the receiver next to my brain, feeble as it may already be.

Guess I'll just turn on speakerphone the old fashioned cumbersome way. :(

I also believe this will not work when your ringer is set to mute or you are using vibrate only.

hehe on Any Cut's Market app page...the first comment is from "Ocyber" Rezound user...cut to Car Dock app ;)

You can send a voice mail message to any other VZ customer w/o actually dialing number (they will not hear their phone ring). You can record a message and type ##, then send of course. I have Visual Voice Mail, I don't know if the option is available through stock.

How do you record a message without dialing the phone number?? I like this option, but can't figure out how to do it. Prolly need the VVM. Can anyone confirm?

That is great but how do you actually make the shortcut? You have to know what action to code, what Data to program, and what Type to program as well. There is no documentation on how to obtain the information from the developer of the app.

Tap voice mail, top right screen (red record button) record your message. This will only work with other VZ customers. Hope this helps

I just discovered this by playing around, but if you go into the desk clock, then select dock mode and hit the home key (desk mode icon in status bar), you can go back to desk clock and it will follow the screen orientation (i.e. landscape will work). A good option if you want a landscape orientated boring black and white desk clock (which I do sometimes). Not sure if there is a quicker more convenient way to do this but I haven't found it yet:)

I like this thread it provides a lot of good info. Read there was another like it so I guess I'll do some more searching. Might be nice to combine them and make a sticky for all us new owners!

If the phone is ringing - you can also flip it over on its face and lay it on a table etc. and it will quiet it. Just like you do to activate the speakerphone.

Well, I tried this last night and when I hit the home key, it would keep me/ put me in the dock mode???? However, I did find that I could go back to the clock screen by long pressing the home key or drop down the status bar and select it. I didn't find anyway to go back to the actual home screen (because I wanted to turn down the display via a widget) but when I went back to the clock screen it was landscape again. I left it plugged in to charge while using it as a clock and noticed that when the screen timed out (not sure how long it took) it initiated a screensaver that has the clock moving around. Sweet! Not sure why it doesn't go to landscape automatically (by sensor) in desk mode because all the screens are laid out like it was planned!

Also, though not exactly rezound specific, I found a great stand for my phone is a "collector dish" stand. You know the kind that you put a small dish/plate/saucer on to display the dish (like your grandmother use to do). I use it every night as an alarm clock. Very secure and it allows me to hit the snooze button no problem! :D
