Has anyone gotten on a plane with this thing? or just used airplane mode for an extended amount of time?

How good is the battery life when using it on a plane to play games and listen to music? mostly music.

I'm sure it will be excellent provided you don't max the screen brightness while playing games and listening to music for those few hours.

right now, I couldn't bear to leave my phone in airplane mode since I'm always using it. lol

I just got my EVO yesterday here in Iraq. As Sprint hasn't set up any towers here, I've been using it in Airplane Mode w/ WiFi on. I haven't done any scientific tests on the battery, but I'll be happy to share it with everyone.

Only a few more weeks before I can get some of that 4G action though!

well I am stuck on an island within an island and the building i work in is a no signal death trap. when ever i go in I make sure to take wifi, gps, and mobile signal off so that I only receive phone calls and text messages if I get lucky. I noticed that my battery lasted all day while I played games. It helps drastically to turn those off. If you turn airplane mode on then you wont get the call or the text when you have a bar or two. I had used my last 15% in 3 hours one time.

this was on my HTC Evo Shift.

Use airplane mode when flying or no connection needed. With music only, battery should last throughout most domestic US flights with plenty of juice to spare. Just did 6 hours in AM using less than 15%. I played some games too for about 30 mins.
