Help Alarm Clock "Notes" Field not visible... Shortcut?

So let's say I set an alarm...

"Set alarm for three-thirty pm, follow up with Matt..." via the voice command.

Great... alarm set, and in the alarm's "note" field it says "follow up with Matt," so I don't forget why I've set the alarm.

Now then, when 3:30 rolls around and the alarm sounds -- and the phone is locked (and why wouldn't it be), all I see on my screen is "Alarm: 3:30, Dismiss? Snooze?" My note to follow up with Matt doesn't appear.

If, by chance, the phone is *unlocked* at the time of the alarm, there's a title field to my alarm. It reads, "follow up with Matt."

So I guess this is some sort of security feature that the note isn't shown on a locked phone.

But to make matters worse, after unlocking the phone, I see no easy way to get into a dismissed alarm -- or even a snoozed one -- to read the note. I have to crawl back into my alarm settings (via the Clock app) to do this. I can't even tap on the alarm icon on my status bar to quickly get into the settings to see these fields.

What I'd like best is for the associated Note to appear on the screen, even when locked. Any work-around to do this?

To answer my own question, it seems the "shortcut" I'm looking for is to NOT choose 'dismiss' or 'snooze,' but instead let the alarm continue to ring as I...
- press the home button
- unlock my phone
- pull down the notification bar
- tap on the alarm item
- read the note at the bottom of the page

Not exactly quick and convenient like I had hoped -- not with the alarm sounding the whole time -- but it'll have to work.

Let me know if you've got something better.

The alarm clock wasn't designed exactly for notifications..

You can use Any.do to set reminders for stuff.. it will ring a sound if your ringer volume is on and you can choose any sound for it. However, it won't turn on your screen if the phone is locked. You also won't hear the alert if your phone is on silent/vibrate. However, it will popup when you unlock your phone and won't just be tucked away in the notification bar.

There might be other apps that are similar but that will ring even if your phone is on silent or turn your screen on if locked. Look around and maybe request that feature from the Any.do developer.. it shouldn't be too hard to implement.

I hadn't previously used it for that, either, but when I discovered I could set voice notes at the same time I set a voice alarm, it became way to convenient not to.

And for what it's worth, the stock alarm sounds even if everything else is muted, and that hasn't failed me yet.

So for those time-critical to-dos, I find myself leaning on the stock alarm clock more and more every day.
