Alarm clock on HTC touch

Hi I have only had my htc touch for a few weeks. When i first starting using the alarm it was working fine but now when it goes off it will only vibrate. If i turn vibrate off it does nothing. I dont think i have chnaged any settings and have spent ages looking for the cause of the problem.

Also i am running Firmware Version: 1.5 and wondered if there are any updates. If so can someone point me in the right direction of how to do this.

Go into the clock app/the alarm area.
Go to select a tone and then use the volume rockers.

To be fair it's not that obvious. Of course, I'm just saying that because I made the same mistake...
