Help alarm clock/ timer/ clock

is there a clock/timer/ stopwatch/ alarm clock that comes standard with Droid 3?
i've always had an alarm clock on nearly every phone i've owned and can't seem to find it on this one. i've looked in settings, which seemed to be the most natural place to have.

do i have to download an app/widget for this?

again - thanks so much.

There is not a standard alarm app on the droid 3. You have to download one.

Not true. I've used my phone as an alarm on my Droid X, X2 and now my 3 without downloading anything. It's right in the app drawer on the first page, "Alarm & Timer".

Since we're talking about clocks... there was an icon next to the time up on the notification bar that had me perplexed. Looked like a black square box with a checkmark in it. Took me a while to realize that it is supposed to be a square clock with a little hand and big hand, lol. I had put a recurring alarm to notify me when lunch break is over, duh! I was so used to the Droid 1 alarm clock icon that this new icon threw me off.
Had me searching the net looking for an icon glossary like a noob. There should be a complete Droid 3 icon glossary somewhere I would think. Some of these icons are Moto UI (motoblur) and not stock Android I presume. Makes it even harder on us.

I wondered what the heck that icon was! I don't remember ever using the stock alarm clock, but sure enough there was an alarm for 9 am, which was disabled. And it would be nice to see what some of the icons are.

One annoying thing I noticed with the clock is that if you happen to be clicking away on things and the alarm goes off just at that moment, then you click on the screen... boom.. the clock flashes for a micro second and it disappears (and missing the alarm)! Happened with the rooster sound (I recommend the ringing sound since it's perpetual and louder).
Another thing... With the Droid 1, you need to click on "dismiss" or "snooze" (or hit the volume), but with Droid 3 you snooze the clock no matter where you touch. Probably helpful if you're in slumber, but pretty dangerous otherwise.

Oh, and I recommend the vibrate option as well. Ring + vibrate = good. Just in case your volume was low, the vibrate should get your attention.

Plus the volume isn't that great. The D1 was super loud, even at med-high volume. Oh well, I'm hoping for a volume boost app or something.

There is a built in Alarm Clock and Timer. You can also adjust the volume by going to Settings/Sound/Volume. From there you can adjust the Ringtone, Media, and Alarm volumes with a slider for each that moves left to right to adjust the sounds louder (move slider to the right) and softer (move slider to the left).

One of the things that I didn't like about the "home screen" is that there is not a built in clock/calendar, where you have your general icons. I downloaded the widget for "3D Digital Weather Clock" and that works for me as it provides a weather icon with a weather outlook for a few days out. Also has a small battery icon that tells me how much battery life is left with a number in it, so I don't have to constantly go into the settings and look at the battery monitor.

I use Beautiful Widgets and just change the default app for clicking on the clock to go to the alarm/timer app.
