Help Alarm didn't work

I use the Razr as my alarm clock daily and have since I got it. I use the stock alarm feature with stock sounds. I have never had an issue with it not going off until today. I use the phone in the OEM charging dock. The only variable I can notice between today and any other day was a text message pop up was on the screen when I woke up. I tried to duplicate the failure but could not.

I do not use task killers or smart actions.

Can anyone provide any insight or similar experiences??

I've had this happen twice for no apparent reason. Keeps me up at night sometimes, wondering if it is not going to work! I had a notification bar message pop up 30 minutes later saying the alarm silenced itself because it hadn't been silenced in 30 minutes (paraphrasing), but it didn't go off visibly or audibly.

Coincidence I woke up two hours late because my alarm didn't go off. I did see a notification saying alarmed silenced itself after 30 minutes but I've never not heard my alarm and my fiance didn't hear it ethier

+1:mad: Happens to me this morning almost got late to work.

You guys experiencing the same problem should report it to Motorola, took about 5 minutes via online chat to report today. They stated they had not heard of anyone else having the issue.

Thanks for the replies, kinda weird all the issues have been this week.

My alarm didn't go off this morning. Not happy. I bought the hd dock just to use my phone in bedside mode and now I can't rely on my phone as an alarm clock. Every one who has had this problem email motorola and complain.

Is there a common denominator here like everyone has it in the dock? I don't use the alarm daily, but I'm going to now, to check it out. I do not have the dock.
Maybe 3rd party is the answer.

I have only had the issue once and it was in the OEM dock.

To me it seems crazy to have to use a 3rd party app because a stock one won't work properly.....I would expect problems with 3rd party apps. not stock

I tested mine three times earlier today and it worked fine as it should, no issue. Maybe there's a third party solution for you guys with issues as there's nothing worse than an unreliable alarm, well almost nothing.;)

Is there a way to tweak the volume of the alarm sounds, or the sounds themselves with the stock app? Volume adjustments don't appear to be working. I've been experimenting with a couple of the sound options, most of them jilt me awake in the morning =(

No problems with the alarm here. Although I don't use my phone as my primary alarm. However when I do use it I haven't had a problem.

Look up on the market for 'Alarm Clock Plus'. It's very customizable, plus you can have a nearly unlimited number of different alarms. Has always worked for me. I use it daily to wake up for work and again when it's time to head out the door.

I use bedside.

this app uses the motorola alarm app. I used bedside because I have better control over background and foreground colors. I'm able to make the background BLACK.

the only time my alarm has not gone off is when I let my 3 yr old play with my phone over a weekend.

Took your advice, got this app, set it up.... this is significantly better. Nice and quiet, very customizable, no bone jarring sounds to wake up to as well, haha. +1

You guys are missing the point here.....I, and most others don't want a "work around" , I kinda think a stock function should work correctly.

If someone knew how to fix the problem I am sure that they would have posted the fix. Plenty of people are "working around" this pretty easily so I guess your choice is continue to use the stock function that does not work or use something else (as others have offered suggestions). Agree it should work, but apparently it does not.

So, using a public forum as it should be- to reach out to others- I am not looking for a "fix". As I and others have requested above, if having this problem please report it to motorola.

I appreciate the suggestions though.

Good point ;)..I will use it this weekend and see what happens. And if it does not work, I will notify Motorolla to try and help. :)

I've had an alarm set to go off Tues - Fri every since I got my phone, it's never failed. Using stock Alarm, phone plugged in, no dock.

My Razr is now having the same issue. The alarm won't go off but will give me the 30 minute notification. This has happened twice and here's what I noticed.

1) I'm not using a dock.
2) I use Smart Actions (Triggers = Time of day + Charging. Actions = Go Silent, Turn on Wi-Fi, Turn on Bluetooth.)

It seems that whenever I make an adjustment to the smart actions and I don't restart the phone, the alarm won't function. I've made several adjustments to the smart actions and if I test the alarm for a few minutes in the future, it works, but if it sits for 6 or 7 hours, it won't.

My theory is when I make an adjustment to smart actions, don't restart the phone and it goes into a deep sleep, the alarm doesn't work.

I wish I could troubleshoot this problem more but I can't afford to be late to work and don't have the luxury of another alarm to use.

I'm no longer using smart actions and will do everything manually and see what happens with the alarm.
